He completed both his ophthalmology residency and his fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at the world-renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, where he continues to return throughout the year as a volunteer assistant professor, teaching the next generation of eye specialists.
His many accolades include awards for his research investigating new treatments for blinding eye conditions. In 2011, Dr. Weiss also became the first resident worldwide to use one of the three leading laser cataract systems currently approved for use in the U.S.
